You need the current password
Removing legitimate PDF password protection is different from guessing or bypassing an unknown password. The current 1into1 workflow requires you to enter the existing password before the document can be decrypted.
Adobe likewise requires the relevant password or authorization when removing document security from a protected PDF.
The document is decrypted locally in the browser
1into1 authenticates the encrypted PDF in the browser using the password you provide. The source file does not need to be uploaded to a normal document-processing server for the unlock step.
If the password is incorrect, the workflow stops rather than creating an unlocked copy.
The unlocked output is rebuilt from rendered pages
After authentication, the tool renders each decrypted page and places that page image into a new, unencrypted PDF.
This deliberately avoids carrying the original encrypted object graph into the output, but it also means the result is not a structure-preserving decryption of the original file.
Searchable text and form controls do not survive
Because the new PDF is built from page images, selectable text, OCR text layers, links, form fields and other interactive PDF structures are not preserved as normal objects.
If those features matter, keep the protected original and use a different authorized decryption workflow that preserves the original PDF structure.
Verify the unlocked copy before using it
Open the downloaded PDF without entering a password and inspect the first, middle and last pages. Check important numbers, signatures, stamps and image detail.
Keep the original protected file until you are satisfied that the rebuilt copy is visually complete and suitable for the next workflow.
