How to fill and flatten an interactive PDF form

Fill supported AcroForm fields directly in your browser. The current tool edits text fields, checkboxes and dropdowns, then lets you keep the form interactive or flatten the filled fields into a static finished copy.

  1. Choose a PDF that already contains interactive form fields.
  2. Wait while the tool detects supported text fields, checkboxes and dropdowns.
  3. Enter or select the values you need.
  4. Leave Flatten Form enabled for a static finished copy, or turn it off when the form should stay editable.
  5. Save the PDF, reopen it, and confirm the filled values and form behavior before submitting or sharing it.

A practical example

A fillable application PDF with name and address text fields, an agreement checkbox and a country dropdown can be completed in the browser. Flatten it for a final static copy, or keep it interactive if the recipient still needs editable fields.

Common questions

Which fields can 1into1 fill?

The current Fill PDF tool supports AcroForm text fields, checkboxes and dropdowns. Other field types are not presented as editable inputs by this workflow.

Can it fill a scanned or flat PDF with no form fields?

No. If no native AcroForm fields are detected, use a visual text, annotation or signature workflow instead of the interactive form filler.

What does Flatten Form do?

Flattening keeps the filled field appearance in the PDF while removing the interactive form widgets so the fields are no longer normal editable form controls.

Can I keep the PDF form editable?

Yes. Turn Flatten Form off before saving. The output keeps the interactive AcroForm so supported fields remain form controls.

Does flattening make the entire PDF impossible to edit?

No. Flattening removes normal form-field interactivity; it should not be treated as DRM or a guarantee that specialized PDF editors cannot alter page content.

Is the PDF uploaded?

The form-filling workflow runs locally in your browser.
