Classic inversion flips every RGB colour
Classic Inversion applies a direct RGB negative to every rendered pixel: each red, green and blue channel is replaced by its opposite value.
That can turn black text on white into light text on dark, but it also inverts photographs, coloured charts, logos and highlights.
OLED Pitch Black uses luminance thresholds
1into1 OLED mode is not the same formula as a simple RGB negative. Very bright pixels are mapped to black, very dark pixels become soft white, and mid-range pixels are inverted.
The goal is a stronger black-background reading copy for documents where the main content is dark text on light pages. Coloured illustrations can still change significantly.
Warm Sepia changes the page to amber tones
Sepia mode applies a standard sepia-style colour transform to each rendered pixel rather than turning the page black.
It is useful when you want a warmer reading copy but do not want a full negative-style appearance.
All three modes affect the whole rendered page
The transformation is applied after the PDF page is rendered, so text, images, diagrams, backgrounds and other visible page content are transformed together.
There is no promise that photographs or brand colours remain faithful to the original. Use the preview and inspect the downloaded copy.
These modes create a new image-based PDF
The transformed page is encoded as JPEG and placed into a new PDF page. This makes the visual colour change permanent in the output but removes normal text selection and searchability.
If you only want a temporary viewing preference while keeping the source PDF untouched and selectable, a viewer accessibility setting such as Acrobat Replace Document Colors may be a better fit.
